Welcome to Mrs. Sam’s Sunshine Scholars!

Our early childhood classroom is a place where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. At our center, we believe in fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence through developmentally appropriate practices. Our school’s vision emphasizes collaboration, respect, and high expectations for all learners, and my educational philosophy aligns with these values. I believe children thrive when families and educators work together, communicate openly, and build trusting relationships. I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to shine.

Two-Way Communication Plan

To maintain strong communication with families, I will use multiple methods to ensure accessibility and consistency. These include weekly website updates, classroom newsletters, daily folders, and optional text reminders for important events. Families may also contact me through email or schedule phone calls or conferences. I encourage families to share observations, concerns, and celebrations so we can work together to support their child’s growth.

Email and Conference policy

I respond to all emails within 24 hours on school days. If a family needs a phone call or conference, they may request one through the website or email. Conferences can be scheduled Monday through Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. If an urgent matter arises, families may contact the front office for immediate support.

Our educational philosophy

At Mrs. Sam’s Sunshine Scholars, we believe in a holistic approach to early childhood education, focusing on collaboration, respect, and high expectations for all learners.

Fostering curiosity

We design engaging activities that spark children's natural curiosity and encourage them to explore the world around them.

Building creativity

Our programs encourage imaginative play and creative expression through art, music, and storytelling, allowing children to develop their unique talents.

Home-Based Educational Activities

  1. Letter Hunt at Home Children search for objects beginning with specific letters. This builds phonemic awareness.
  2. Counting Collections Families gather small household items (buttons, coins, blocks) and help children count, sort, and compare groups. This supports early math concepts.
  3. Family Story Time Reading together for 10–15 minutes daily improves vocabulary, comprehension, and listening skills.
